The overview

Everything the job needs, handled by one team.

Most of the work we do starts here. Electrical is the trade everything else connects back to, and it is usually where a customer first calls us. We are a licensed electrical contractor based in Chinchilla, working across the Western Downs and South West Queensland.

The scope runs from a household fault to a full commercial or agricultural installation: new builds and fit-outs, rewires and switchboard upgrades, lighting, power, safety and compliance. Before recommending work we want to understand the site, because a home, a shed, a workshop and a commercial operation all have different demands. Connected requirements can then be scoped as part of the same job rather than quoted separately by separate trades.

Yes. The same licensed team handles everything from a single household call-out to a full commercial or agricultural installation. You deal with one team and one point of accountability, whether the job is a power point or a site build.

If you are selling or leasing, it already does. Queensland has required interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms in any home sold, leased or re-leased since 1 January 2022, and from 1 January 2027 the same applies to every owner-occupied home. Interconnected means one alarm detecting smoke sounds every alarm in the house. They must be photoelectric, less than ten years old, and either hardwired or on a sealed ten-year battery, fitted in every bedroom, in the connecting hallways and on every storey. For most existing homes that is new alarms and new wiring, not a battery change.

Yes. Ovens, cooktops, rangehoods, dishwashers and dryers all need a proper connection and, in some cases, a dedicated circuit. We check the circuit can carry the appliance, connect it, test it and leave it safe. If the board cannot support it, we tell you before the job starts.

We run 24/7 emergency call-outs, 365 days a year. If the power is out, the board is tripping or something is unsafe, call 0427 457 571 and a licensed electrician will attend.

Yes. We look at the site and how it is used before recommending work. If you have called us for a fault, we can also flag other issues or upcoming requirements while we are there, so you can plan rather than react.

We wire sheds, workshops and rural properties regularly, including lighting, power, safety switches and compliance. For larger agricultural sites we also handle underground and overhead electrical services, property poles, earthing, meter boards, consumer mains, pump stations and related infrastructure.

Yes. Design & Construct means one contractor carries the design, the project management, the material supply, the installation and the commissioning. We install, maintain and commission low, medium and high voltage, and we can put temporary site power in while the permanent supply is built.

We hold Electrical Contractor Licence 87232, QBCC licence 1216222 and ARCtick AU53685. Work carried out by Switch'D is backed by a workmanship warranty: if a fault arises from our workmanship, we return and rectify it at no charge.

Yes. Because we are a licensed electrical contractor with capability across air-conditioning, solar, switchboards, data and communications, we can scope connected work as one job. You get one quote, one team and one point of accountability instead of coordinating multiple contractors.
